Use Transparent Background

When this check box is marked, the table background color matches the chart background color. If the checkbox is not marked, the table background will be white.

Include Table Frame

The table frame is a rectangle marking the border of the table region. If this checkbox is marked, the frame is drawn. If Hide All Frames on the Background tab is marked, this check box setting is ignored. The width of the frame lines can be varied from 1 to 3 pixels. Since no legend is needed, the table region expands to occupy all space between the title and footer regions located at the top and bottom of the chart, and the bevels located on the left and right sides of the chart.

Include Table Accent Frame

The table accent frame is a rectangle located inside the graph frame. If this checkbox is marked, the frame is drawn. If Hide All Frames on the Background tab is marked, this check box setting is ignored. The width of the frame lines can be varied from 1 to 3 pixels.

Table Padding

The table padding is the number of pixels between the table frame and the table accent frame. The table padding can be varied from 1 to 100 pixels.

Table Gutter

If the table is narrow but too long to fit in the display area, the software attempts to create two adjacent tables. The table gutter is the number of pixels between the two tables. The table gutter can be varied from 1 to 50 pixels.

Decimals

Percentages and average values can include precision with zero to 3 decimal places. This decimal setting is also used with data markers values. The spinner can be changed to vary from 0 to 3 decimal places.

Include Table Totals Column

If the chart data is from a multiple series of data points, a total column can be placed in the rightmost table column. If the table data is from a single series of data points, a total column can not be created.

Include Table Totals Row

If the table data is from either a single series of data points, or a multiple series of data points, a total row can be placed at the bottom of the table. If the table column is all percentage values, a total row will not be included.

Numeric Display

If the chart data is from a multiple series of data points, the data values can be displayed as the actual values or as percentages of the row or column totals.

Table Grid Lines

Table grid lines can be drawn in either horizontal, vertical, or both directions. Selecting 'None' clears the chart table of all interior grid lines. Table grid lines can be drawn with a dot, dash, dashdot, dashdotdot, and solid pattern. The table lines will not be displayed if 'Clear' is selected.

Table Font

Clicking the button on the right side of the font combo box displays a font dialog. You can select a new font, font style, size, and color. If the displayed data does not fit in the chart size, it may be necessary to enlarge the chart size of reduce the font size.

Adjustments

The software can make some adjustments if the amount of data can not be displayed in the table region. If the table is narrow but too long, the software attempts to either create two adjacent tables, or reduce the height of the table headers. If the table is close to fitting in the chart area, a disorganized (overlapping text and lines) table is displayed on purpose. You have the options of changing the font size, increasing the chart size, and eliminating the chart header, title, and footer to make the table fit. If the table is too wide and too tall to fit in the chart area, the table will not be displayed. The message 'Too Much Data for Table' will be displayed.

Count Percentage Compared to Respondent Percentage

Consider a question with multiple responses. Which of these magazines do you subscribe to? Obviously people could check more than one magazine. Lets assume 50 people answered this question.

Count Percentage totals all the checks = the total number of magazines. Assume the total number of checks was 150. If Time magazine was checked 15 times, the Count percentage would be 15/150 = 10%.

The Respondent Percentage refers to how many people answering the question, checked this choice. In this magazine subscription example, 15 of the 50 people checked the box so the respondent percentage is 15/50 = 30%.
